04 Days Kenya Migration Safari

After breakfast, proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland rolling across dramatic hills — the Mara is Kenya's finest game park, with an extensive road and track network allowing for close-range viewing and photography of the Big Five and the vast wildebeest migration herds.

Break for a picnic lunch at the famous hippo pool — watching hippos wallow in the river and enormous Nile crocodiles bask on the muddy banks. Afternoon game drives continue before returning to camp for dinner and overnight at Miti Mingi Eco Camp, with the sounds of the African bush all around.

After breakfast and a morning game drive in the Mara, depart the reserve heading north towards Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive takes you back through the Great Rift Valley with its dramatic escarpment views. Lunch is taken en route at a convenient stop.

Arrive at Lake Nakuru in the evening. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a dedicated sanctuary for both black and white rhino, as well as the famous flamingo flocks that colour the lake shores pink, cape buffalo, waterbuck, leopard and giraffe. Dinner and overnight at Chester Hotel in Nakuru town.

After breakfast, proceed on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park — one of East Africa's most rewarding parks for bird and wildlife photography. The park is famous for its prolific birdlife, with hundreds of thousands of flamingos turning the alkaline lakeshore a spectacular shade of pink.

The park contains a dedicated white rhino sanctuary — sightings are common — while cape buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, leopard and lion can all be found near the shoreline and in the surrounding acacia forest. After the morning game drive, drive back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon. End of safari.
