An epic sweep across Kenya's greatest wildlife parks in eight days — from the misty highland forests of the Aberdare where nocturnal animals gather at a floodlit waterhole, through the Great Rift Valley's famous flamingo lake at Nakuru, down to the vast Maasai Mara plains, and finishing under the shadow of Kilimanjaro at Amboseli. A complete Big Five circuit that showcases the extraordinary diversity of Kenya's ecosystems.

The highlight that sets this itinerary apart is The Ark Lodge in the Aberdare — a unique treehouse-style property where game viewing is done from the viewing decks over the floodlit waterhole below. Elephant, buffalo, black rhino and giant forest hog regularly appear at night. Combined with Hell's Gate's dramatic gorge walk and Amboseli's elephant-Kilimanjaro panoramas, this is Kenya at its most varied and unforgettable.

Nairobi to Aberdare — The Ark Lodge
📍 Nairobi → Aberdare National Park
+

Picked up at the airport or your Nairobi hotel by your safari guide. After introductions and a safari briefing, head north through the Mount Kenya highlands towards the Aberdare. Arrive at the Aberdare Country Club — the base lodge — for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, you are transferred deeper into the park to The Ark Lodge itself. This remarkable treehouse-style property is built directly over a floodlit waterhole — game viewing here is done from the decks, watching as animals come to drink below. Elephant herds, buffalo, black rhino, waterbuck, giant forest hog and hyena are regular nighttime visitors. The lodge provides a buzzer system to alert guests when large animals arrive after dark.
