10 Days Kenya Lodge Safari — Wildebeest Migration

After breakfast at the hotel, your guide collects you for check-out and the drive south to Amboseli National Park — approximately 3.5 hours. Arrive at Kibo Safari Camp in time for lunch, then relax before your introduction game drive from 4pm until sunset.

Amboseli is famous for its jumbo African elephants — found here in some of the largest concentrations anywhere in East Africa. The park's flat, dry terrain makes spotting wildlife exceptionally easy, and Kilimanjaro's snow-capped peak dominates the horizon. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for an extensive game drive with picnic lunches. Track wildlife ranging from the great African elephants — with tusks rarely seen elsewhere — across the open plains, with scenic views of Mount Kilimanjaro from the observation point when weather allows.

The picnic is enjoyed at a viewpoint mound — looking out over both the swampy and bone-dry areas of Amboseli simultaneously. The afternoon game drive continues before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out and depart northwards through Nairobi and the central farmland, arriving at the Aberdare Country Club for a hot lunch. In the afternoon, you are transferred deeper into the highland forest to The Ark Lodge — a unique treehouse-style property built over a floodlit waterhole.

The Ark is one of Kenya's most distinctive wildlife experiences: as darkness falls, elephants, buffalo, black rhino, waterbuck, hyena and giant forest hog come to the waterhole directly below your viewing decks. Transferred back to the Aberdare Country Club for breakfast, then meet your guide for the scenic drive north through the equator line — a popular photo stop — and on to Thomson Falls, one of Kenya's most spectacular waterfalls dropping 74 metres into a rocky gorge. A memorable morning stop before continuing west.

Arrive at Lake Nakuru Lodge in time for lunch, then an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its flamingo flocks, white rhino sanctuary, leopard, lion, cape buffalo and waterbuck. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After an early breakfast, check out and drive through the savannah grassland west into the Maasai Mara National Reserve — arriving at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Rest awhile, then start your first introduction game drive in this migration paradise reserve.

The Mara needs no introduction. From the moment you arrive, the sheer density of wildlife is extraordinary. Your afternoon game drive positions you across the Mara plains to see lion, elephant, cheetah and the first of the vast wildebeest herds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
