Wildebeest Migration July–October: Over 1 million wildebeest, 200,000+ zebra and countless Thompson gazelles make the 1,200km migration across the Mara — including the dramatic river crossing where Nile crocodiles await. Ask about timing your visit for this once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

Both adventure and relaxation await on this 13-day tour. Begin in Amboseli — one of Kenya's smallest but most spectacular national parks — where vast elephant herds move beneath the snow-capped cone of Kilimanjaro, one of the most iconic images in all of Africa. The sparse vegetation makes wildlife-spotting particularly rewarding, and the park's swamp areas attract extraordinary birdlife year-round.

From Amboseli, travel to Lake Naivasha — a freshwater lake at 1,890 metres above sea level in the Great Rift Valley, famous for its hippos, giraffes, waterbucks and profusion of both resident and migratory birds. An afternoon boat trip brings you close to wildlife on and around the lake. Then the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve awaits: the Big Five and all manner of prey, plus the option to visit Maasai villages and their red-clad inhabitants. Finally, fly to Mombasa for five days on white sandy beaches with azure sea, coral reefs and the fascinating history of this ancient seaport.

Day by Day Breakdown

01
Days One & Two
Nairobi — Giraffe Centre — Karen Blixen — Amboseli National Park
📍 Nairobi → Amboseli National Park · Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Similar
+

On arrival in Nairobi, be met by your local driver/guide and transfer to your hotel. After a quick freshen-up, visit the Giraffe Centre — where you hand-feed, stroke and even hug the elegant resident giraffes. Lunch is served at Karen Coffee Garden — the old administration building of Karen Blixen's coffee plantation — followed by a visit to the legendary Karen Blixen Museum.

Your driver/guide then heads south towards Amboseli National Park, Kenya's smallest but most spectacular park. Depending on arrival time, lunch may be en route or at your lodge. That afternoon, your very first safari awaits — Amboseli is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, many bearing enormous tusks. The iconic sight of elephants against the backdrop of snow-capped Kilimanjaro is one of the great images of Africa. The sparse vegetation makes spotting animals easy, and the park's swamp areas attract extraordinary birdlife year-round.
